Frequency Notation
Salt lake County ARES frequencies and repeaters are designated for clarity and brevity in text.
The format is frequency, service and squelch.

    • Frequencies are listed using three decimal places. The frequency is simplex, packet or repeater output frequency. Repeater operation follows the 20KHz standard ARRL band plan for repeaters.
    • Service refers to the type of voice or data operation and is abbreviated using S for simplex, R for repeater and P for packet.
    • Squelch refers to the squelch system used. The complete CTCSS frequency is appended at the end of the designation. For simplex, CTCSS is normally not used and can be omitted. Repeaters not using CTCSS are under carrier squelch control shown as "Cs"
      Example:
448.450R100.0 means listen on 448.450MHz to a repeater needing a CTCSS tone of 100.0 Hz.
