ARRL – ARES
UTAH SECTION
SALT LAKE COUNTY
The Utah Section of the ARRL ARES group, serving Salt Lake County is made up of experienced amateur radio operators that focus and train within emergency service and emergency communications. These operators all share the value of community service, especially when geared towards supporting municipalities, organizations, and other clubs with auxiliary forms of emergency communications.

Salt Lake County ARES, our Partners, and the Task Book
Salt Lake County ARES offers training to meet the emergency communications needs of partners including Salt Lake County Emergency Management, Intermountain Healthcare, National Weather Service and others. The first step on the path is to download a copy of the ARES Emergency Communicator Individual Task Book. Then, participate in our nets and meetings to augment the national plan with required local qualifications. If you’ve been looking for a more meaningful role in emergency communications, start now to prepare for openings later in 2026.

Please remember to turn on your radios at least once weekly and check into our over the air nets and also think about visiting us at one of our in person meetings. We would like nothing more then to have more Salt Lake County operators become involved within the area of emergency communications.
